Abstract:As somaesthetic of the monistic body and mind, ancient Chinese aesthetics understands the body and the world as interrelated situations, places experience at the center of aesthetic activities, and emphasizes perceptual aesthetic experience. This article introduces the perspective of the mind and body view of ancient Chinese aesthetics as the theoretical framework for interpreting Jiangnan images, hoping to observe the contemporary creation and research of Jiangnan image. At the level of spatial construction of Jiangnan images, it embodies the continuation of the complementary views of Confucianism and Taoism in ancient Chinese aesthetics. First, it endows Jiangnan image with the ontological life aesthetics of “being as metaphor”, and finds a vivid and dynamic way of emotional expression; second, it brings Jiangnan images a romantic spirit that transcends the world and interests to construct a pure and natural aesthetic space. On the narrative level of Jiangnan image, the characters as poetic subjects are the internal driving force to promote the narrative, bringing complex and subtle plot connotations to Jiangnan image and a more vital aesthetic style. The dialogue between the two sexes is the root of the narrative structure of Jiangnan image, and it is the life meta-discourse of many dual relations among them, which brings the beauty of virtual reality to Jiangnan image.
