Abstract:“The Russian Proletarian Writers Union” was the most important literary phenomenon in Soviet literature in the 1920s and 1930s which had far-reaching influence on the Leftist Literature Criticism. Feng Xuefeng, one of the important members of the Leftist Association, not only translated “the dialectic method in writing” of “The Russian Proletarian Writers Union”, but also used the theory as an important theoretical resource for his realism theory. Influenced by this theory, Feng Xuefeng’s realism theory excluded romanticism, respected realism, attached importance to the role of the writer’s world outlook, and regarded realism literature as a revolutionary weapon and tool. “The dialectic method in writing” of “The Russian Proletarian Writers Union” provided a theoretical basis for Feng Xuefeng’s realism theory construction and adapted to the needs of the revolutionary reality at that time. However, the limitations of this method also inevitably brought some negative effects on the construction of Feng Xuefeng’s realism theory.Exploring Feng Xuefeng’s experience and lessons in accepting and interpreting “the dialectic method in writing” has certain reference value for the development of current realism theory.
