    摘要:

    话语标记语“I mean”有多种语用功能意义。在构式语法的框架下,试图把 “I mean”作为一个构式来研究,分析其形式、意义、功能,然后在此基础上提出“I mean”的形成是一个语法化的结果这样一个假设,是从第一人称的动补构式[verb+complement]语法化为话语标记语构式[discourse marker]。构式语法可以成功解释语法化的诱因。这样的分析可促进运用构式语法对话语标记语的研究,同时也显示出构式语法的强大解释力。

    Abstract:

    As a discourse marker, “I mean” takes on various functional meanings, which were mainly approached by pragmatics. Under the framework of Construction Grammar, this paper approaches “I mean” as a construction and analyzes its pairing of form and function (or meaning). Then upon the preceding basis, a hypothesis concerning the formation of “I mean” is proposed that “I mean” is the outcome of grammaticalization process, with schematic [verb+complement] construction gradually grammaticalized into schematic [discourse marker] construction. Construction Grammar serves to justify the rationale of grammaticalization as far as “I mean” is concerned. The overall analysis facilitates the constructional approach to discourse markers, and it also manifests the accountability of construction grammar.
